![]() ![]() I'd recommend this game for fans of Lovecraft and narrative puzzle games. I'm not saying this is exactly for kids, but it would make an excellent "my first Lovecraft story" for kids interested in horror as there's no gore and very little violence. I also wouldn't have minded a darker story. (My favourite walking simulator Edith Finch nailed the narration perfectly.) I would've preferred a narration told in the past tense instead of the talking-to-myself narration which is always less believable. Voice acting can make or break a game like this and while it wasn't bad by any means, it could've been much better. The walking speed is too slow which was especially annoying in areas where it was necessary to walk back and forth places. I liked the atmosphere and it felt like I was playing a game instead of going through an interactive cutscene. They're not too easy, but they could've been more challenging. The puzzles are mostly good if a little too samey. Beautiful, stylised graphics (like Firewatch), very colourful and visually pleasing. The plot wasn't overly complex which was great. It's a tragic love story told in the context of lovecraftian mystery. commitment to the Philippines’ security and noted the deep friendship of the two nations as he met with Philippines President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. Call of the sea is a solid walking sim puzzle game.
